Common questions

Are e-wallets safe?

The wallets compared here are licensed e-money institutions supervised by financial regulators (for example the UK FCA for Paysafe brands and EU national regulators for Revolut's EU entity). Customer funds are safeguarded separately from company funds. Enable two-factor authentication on any wallet you use.

Why use an e-wallet instead of my bank card?

Speed and separation. Wallet-to-merchant payments are typically instant, withdrawals are faster than card refunds, and your card details are never shared with merchants. Many people also like keeping online spending in a separate balance.

How long does verification take?

Skrill and Neteller usually verify automatically in 10–15 minutes. PayPal can take up to a day for full verification. Doing it immediately after signup avoids limits later.

Can I get a card linked to my wallet?

Yes — Skrill, Neteller and Revolut all offer virtual cards (instant) and physical prepaid cards usable anywhere Mastercard or Visa is accepted.
